Also when you need to call – not just when the customer calls
Your Receptionist can also call your existing customers: confirm appointments, send payment reminders and check that the job was completed to their satisfaction. Automatically, in English, and within the law.
What you typically run into day to day
Customers forget booked times because nobody rang to confirm the day before
Outstanding payments sit there because nobody has time to call and chase
You never ask customers whether they were happy – so you miss out on reviews and don't fix problems in time
Periodic servicing and inspections get forgotten because follow-up needs manual tracking
Delays to an appointment aren't communicated until the customer rings in, annoyed
Managing follow-up calls takes time away from the work that actually earns money
Outbound AI calls are not the same as telesales
Rules on automated calling systems can require prior consent, particularly for marketing and cold calling. Your Receptionist's outbound calls are therefore built for one specific, safe category: operational calls to your existing customers – not sales, not cold calling, not marketing.
What we build for
- Calls to customers you already have a relationship with
- Operational information: confirmations, reminders, status updates
- Calls that primarily serve the customer – not a sales message
What we don't offer
- Cold calling or calls to new, unknown contacts
- Marketing calls without prior consent
- Sales follow-ups that are really telesales in disguise
All calls comply with Article 50 of the EU AI Act: the customer is always told that it's an AI assistant calling – not a human. This is not legal advice. We always recommend having your specific set-up reviewed by a solicitor before you scale up outbound calls.
How businesses like yours use outbound calls
Three examples of calls you can start today – all to existing customers, all operational.
Confirm an appointment before the customer forgets it
The system automatically calls 24–48 hours before a booked time and confirms the customer can still make it. If they can't, you're told straight away and can fill the slot.
Typically used by: plumbers, electricians, locksmiths, dentists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, vets, hairdressers
AI: Hello, this is an automated message from [business]. I'm calling to confirm your appointment tomorrow at 10am. Does that still suit you?
Customer: Yes, that's fine.
AI: Perfect, see you tomorrow then. Have a good day.
Remind customers of an outstanding payment – without it feeling awkward
A friendly, factual reminder to customers with an overdue invoice. The AI states the amount and due date and refers them to your accounts team if they have questions – no debt-collector tone, just an operational message.
Typically used by: any business that invoices – especially trades and damage restoration
AI: Hello, this is an automated reminder from [business]. Your invoice for £215 was due on the 10th – we can see it hasn't yet been recorded as paid.
Customer: Oh, I think I forgot that one. I'll sort it today.
AI: Great, thank you. If you have any questions about the invoice, please call our accounts team.
Find out whether the customer was happy – and get more reviews
A short call after a completed job or treatment. If the customer is happy, they're politely encouraged to leave a review. If not, they're referred straight to support, so the problem is caught before it becomes a bad review.
Typically used by: tradespeople after a completed job, clinics after treatment, garages after a service
AI: Hello, this is an automated follow-up from [business]. We carried out a job for you last week – were you happy with the result?
Customer: Yes, very happy actually.
AI: Good to hear! May we send you a link so you can leave a review on Google? It means a lot to us.

Frequently asked questions
Can you call all my customers?
We build outbound calls for your existing customer relationships and operational purposes – not cold calling or marketing to unknown contacts. That keeps the service within a safe legal framework.
Is it legal to use AI to make outbound calls?
Yes, as long as the calls are operational and go to existing customers. Marketing rules set stricter requirements for automated calling systems when it comes to marketing – which is not what this service is built for. We always recommend having your specific set-up legally reviewed before you scale up.
Can my customers tell it's an AI calling?
Yes. Under the EU AI Act (Article 50), it must always be disclosed when a customer is talking to an AI. This is built into every call from day one.
What do outbound calls cost?
The same rate as your inbound calls: £0.17 per minute plus a £5.70 monthly subscription, with no contract.
Can you also call new customers or leads?
Not at present. Calls to new contacts require separate legal clarification, which we don't offer as a standard service. Contact us if you have a specific need and we can assess it together.
25% off for new customers. Limited-time offer – first come, first served.
